Society of St. Stephens
Named after a Bible study society that had a heart for serving in local ministry to the community, Blueridge’s Society of St. Stephens ministry is devoted to serving food to those in need in our community. We serve sacks of groceries once a month to anyone in need. We are in the process of increasing the number of days we serve and the reach of this ministry based on the need we see around us. Our ministry is always in need of volunteers and donations. Contact us using our contact form or call us at 713-733-5174.
Blueridge GM Education
It is the vision of the Blueridge GM Education ministry to provide Christian educational opportunities by teaching God’s word in Bible studies, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, confirmation classes and other means in which we experience God’s grace. We invite, encourage, and challenge all children, youth and adults to be transformed as we study God’s word and grow as disciples of Christ.

Love In A Big World creates meaningful interactions with caring adults – helping kids develop the kind of positive personality traits that will empower them in everyday life. Through a flexible and customizable curriculum, it uses relevant and diverse stories, Scripture, and life lessons to teach kids to love God, love other people, and to change the world by acting on that love. This is the curriculum being used with our elementary age children.
Every Sunday during worship in the youth wing of the church.
VBS | Vacation BIble School
An annual week-long, fun, engaging, hands-on Bible learning experience for children and youth. VBS is offered in the summer.
Confirmation
Confirmation refers to the decision a person makes to respond to God’s grace with intentional commitment, publicly reaffirming his or her baptismal vows before the congregation. During confirmation class, confirmands learn about the meaning of Christian faith; the history and teachings and The Methodist Church; and an explanation of the baptismal and membership vows they will be professing. Confirmation classes usually begin in the fall and conclude with Confirmation in the spring.
Boy Scouts
Boy Scouts Troop 434 has been in existence at Blueridge GMC for over 30 years. The scouting program assembles young men for participation in activities that further instill traits and values of character development, faith, physical fitness, leadership, and citizenship. This troop has produced over 30 Eagle Scouts in our 30 year history. We meet weekly on Saturdays from noon to 1:30 pm. Contact us for more information.
If your children need a place to feel safe, experience the love of Christ, have fun and grow in their faith, have them join us at Blueridge. We create many opportunities for our children & youth to connect with God and with each other. Contact us to see what’s happening in the youth ministry this summer.
